dc.description.abstractO livro traz alguns trabalhos apresentados e debatidos durante o VI Fórum Acadêmico BRICS, com vistas a aprofundar a discussão sobre a promoção de parcerias e cooperação entre Brasil, Rússia, Índia, China e África do Sul. Aborda questões relativas ao processo de aproximação entre os cinco países, bem como sua ação conjunta no cenário internacional. A obra conta com dez sessões temáticas sobre comércio e investimento; desenvolvimento inclusivo sustentável; cooperação internacional para o desenvolvimento; paz e segurança; urbanização; produtividade e renda média, as novas classes sociais nos países emergentes; governança global e tecnologias sociais, apresentando análises dos debates sobre questões de particular interesse para o desenvolvimento do BRICS e seu papel no âmbito da governança global.pt_BR
dc.description.abstractalternativeThe book contains some papers presented and discussed during the VI Academic Fórum BRICS, in order to deepen the discussion on the promotion of partnerships and cooperation between Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. It addresses issues related to the process of rapprochement between the five countries and their joint action in the international arena. The work has ten thematic sessions on trade and investment; sustainable inclusive development; international cooperation for development; peace and security; urbanization; productivity and average income, the new social classes in emerging countries; global governance and social technologies, providing analysis of the debates on issues of particular interest for the development of BRICS and its role in the global governance.pt_BR
dc.description.otherThe sixth edition of the BRICS Academic Forum took place in Rio de Janeiro, in March, 2014. This was the first Forum organized by the BRICS Think-Tanks Council, and was the first one of the ‘second round’ of meetings (after all the five members had already hosted previous Forums). Because in 2014 Brazil holds the ‘pro tempore’ presidency of the BRICS it corresponded to the official Brazilian Think-Tank, Ipea, to organize and coordinate the Forum. By a happy coincidence, 2014 is also the year when we celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Ipea. Organizing the Forum was, as a matter of fact, the first activity among the celebrations of Ipea’s golden jubilee. This volume divulges a major part of the works presented in the sixth BRICS Academic Forum. In so doing Ipea and Funag hope to contribute by sharing knowledge with a broader public.
