Abstract

In recent years, China has become the main promoter of International Development Cooperation (IDC) in Southeast Asia, a trend closely linked to the country’s growing trade and investment ties with the region. While the nature of China’s engagement has evolved from ideological to pragmatic, the underlying political interests of the Chinese Communist Party remain a key driver of its cooperation.
