Abstract
O artigo analisa a evolução e o funcionamento do Grupo dos Vinte (G20) como principal fórum de governança econômica internacional. O grupo teve origem com objetivo de discutir e buscar soluções para as crises financeiras globais que vinham ocorrendo nas últimas décadas. Após a crise financeira de 2008, tornou-se um fórum de coordenação de chefes de Estado e governo, expandindo sua agenda. Trata-se de um grupo heterogêneo que abrange economias desenvolvidas e emergentes, contando também com a participação da sociedade civil, no esforço de lidar com os principais desafios globais.

The article discusses the evolution and operation of the Group of Twenty (G20) as the primary forum for international economic governance. The G20 originated from global financial crises in recent decades. After the 2008 financial crisis, it became a meeting of heads of state and government, expanding its agenda. It is a heterogeneous group that includes both developed and emerging economies, also involving civil society in addressing key global challenges.
