Abstract
O capítulo aborda a escassez de pesquisas que aplicam especificações econométricas aos dados das receitas públicas brasileiras, destacando que, embora haja uma abundância de textos sobre finanças públicas e política fiscal, a literatura específica nesse contexto é limitada. A pesquisa identifica apenas oito textos com especificações explícitas sobre o tema, apontando a necessidade de mais investigações nessa área. O capítulo oferece duas contribuições: primeiro, um esforço preliminar de mapeamento da literatura econométrica sobre as receitas públicas brasileiras na última década; segundo, apresenta especificações inéditas utilizadas na Coordenação de Finanças Públicas do Ipea. Destaca-se a importância do tema para compreender o comportamento histórico e futuro das receitas públicas, identificar os determinantes da arrecadação governamental e evitar desequilíbrios no orçamento público. Além disso, ressalta a conexão entre a arrecadação de receitas e o processo de políticas públicas, uma vez que os recursos disponíveis para programas governamentais estão vinculados às receitas de impostos e contribuições.

The chapter addresses the scarcity of research that applies econometric specifications to Brazilian public revenue data, highlighting that, although there is an abundance of texts on public finance and fiscal policy, specific literature in this context is limited. The research identifies only eight texts with explicit specifications on the topic, highlighting the need for further investigations in this area. The chapter offers two contributions: first, a preliminary effort to map the econometric literature on Brazilian public revenues in the last decade; second, it presents new specifications used in Ipea's Public Finance Coordination. The importance of the topic is highlighted for understanding the historical and future behavior of public revenue, identifying the determinants of government revenue and avoiding imbalances in the public budget. Furthermore, it highlights the connection between revenue collection and the public policy process, since the resources available for government programs are linked to revenue from taxes and contributions.
