dc.description.abstract"The Government of Sudan has recognised the importance of a well-consolidated social protection system in the fight against poverty and to raise the living standards of the Sudanese population. Despite increased efforts, poverty levels remain high and the existing social protection system is not yet able to reach all people in need. In addition, the country is currently facing economic challenges that adversely affect the situation of children and families. Technical support and guidance can enhance the government’s efforts to scale up the country's social protection programmes, allowing families to manage lifecycle risks and avoid coping mechanisms that could lead to harmful and irreversible consequences for their children".
