Abstract:	O texto focaliza as três principais abordagens sobre o setor informal no que tange à concepção implícita do papel do Estado e das implicações de suas ações sobre o informal. Destaca as características de cada uma das vertentes teóricas analisadas – a keynesiana, a neoliberal e, finalmente, a vertente estruturalista –, buscando contextualizá- las histórica e conceitualmente.
