Investiga em detalhe o atual papel da pobreza, considerando o nível excessivamente alto do trabalho infantil no Brasil. Conclui que não há evidência amparando a hipótese de que a pobreza é a causa principal do alto nível de trabalho infantil no Brasil. A causa principal ainda precisa ser investigada.
