Abstract
Apresenta o contexto urbano brasileiro atual e dos principais avanços e desafios desde 1996, quando da Conferência Habitat II. A segunda parte, está estruturada, seguindo o modelo proposto pela ONU, em seis grandes temas, nos termos da Resolução nº 24/2014 da ONU Habitat e faz referência aos indicadores sugeridos, além dos desenvolvidos, todos demonstrativos dos últimos vinte anos. Conclui apontando rumos para uma nova agenda urbana brasileira e mundial onde foram feitos esforços de síntese de posições de política pública, sendo o direito à cidade o fio condutor de todo esse processo. O relatório nacional se configura como um método de avaliação de políticas públicas, bem como aponta desafios para a construção da Nova Agenda Urbana mundial.

The report is divided in three parts. The first consists in a presentation of the current Brazilian urban context and the main advances and challenges since 1996, when Habitat II was held. The second is structured ccording to the six key topics proposed on the UN guidelines prepared according to resolution 24/14 of the UN-Habitat Governing Council, and refers to the indicators suggested by the UN, as well as those developed during the consultation process, which provide data on the last twenty years. The third part closes the report, proposing elements for a new Brazilian and global urban agenda – efforts were made to sum up positions on policy, and the right to the city was the thread of this whole process. Thus, this national report has a method to assess public policy and points out challenges for the elaboration of the New World Urban Agenda.
