Abstract
Nos anos 2000 o mercado de trabalho brasileiro apresentou diversas transformações, em paralelo ao acelerado crescimento real do salário mínimo (SM) e à ampliação do setor formal. Assim, o objetivo deste artigo é avaliar o peso desses dois fatores, das mudanças nas condições de oferta e de demanda e das características da força de trabalho sobre a distribuição salarial entre 2004 e 2014. Os resultados obtidos indicam que o SM contribuiu para reduzir a dispersão salarial, especialmente entre as mulheres e no estrato mais baixo da distribuição. Entre aqueles com maior renda, o principal fator para reduzir tal dispersão foram as condições de oferta e de demanda.

In the 2000s the Brazilian labor market had several changes in parallel to rapid growth of the real minimum wage and the expansion of the formal sector. We aim to evaluate the importance of these two factors, the changing conditions of supply and demand and the characteristics of the workforce on wage distribution between 2004 and 2014. Our results indicate that the minimum wage contributed to reduce wage dispersion, especially among women and in the lowest stratum of the distribution. Among those with higher income, the main factor to reduce the dispersion were the conditions of supply and demand.
