Abstract
Neste artigo examina-se a proposta de reforma monetária de Arida e Resende, que sugerem a adoção de uma moeda indexada (ORTN), em circulação paralela ao cruzeiro. Preços e salários seriam convertidos para a nova moeda tomando como base os valores reais médios dos últimos seis meses. Distinguem-se dois regimes para os reajustes dos salários nominais: o regime vigente, que recompõe semestralmente o pico do salário real; e o regime proposto, que repassa aos salários nominais, continuamente ao longo do mês, a, variação das ORTN do mês anterior. Relaciona-.se a inflação na nova moeda com a variação da inflação dos preços em cruzeiros, que vigiria sob o mesmo regime de reajuste salarial (repasse diário da variação mensal). Discute-se, ainda, a restauração dos mecanismos de indexação sob a nova moeda por ocasião de um choque inflacionário.

In this paper we examine the proposal of monetary reform made by Arida and Resende, who suggest the adoption of an indexed money (ORTN) that would circulate simultaneously with the cruzeiro. Prices and wages would be converted to the new money based on average real valves of the past six months. There are two systems for correction of nominal wage: the traditional system, that establishes a semestral recomposition of the past peak of the real wage; and the proposed system, that passes on daily the ORTN's variation of the month before to the nominal wage. In this work the new money's inflation is related with the variation of the cruzeiro's inflation that would occur with the same system of wage adjustments (daily pass-on of monthly variations). We also discuss the restauration of indexation of indexation mechanisms under an inflationary shock.
