Abstract

Anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions affect climate dynamics. To help mitigate its emissions, Brazil launched the ABC Plan (2010-2020). Despite the progress, the participation of family farming was marginal. With the end of the first cycle of the ABC Plan, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply presented the ABC+ Plan in 2021, establishing the 2020-2030 cycle, in which it reinforces the intention of promoting the inclusion of family farming. In this context, this paper aims to reflect on the importance and challenges for the development of low-carbon family farming in Brazil.
