Abstract
Este artigo tem como objetivo observar o desempenho do Brasil em relação a oito indicadores relacionados a metas quantificáveis do Plano Nacional de Educação voltadas para o ensino superior (PNE-ES), propostas para o período 2001-2010. Para tanto, foi analisada a evolução de algumas das metas contidas no anexo do PNE, de acordo com as informações do Censo do Ensino Superior e da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Capes), fazendo o uso de estatísticas descritivas para o período entre 2001 e 2014. O período cobre a publicação do I PNE (2001) até a publicação do II PNE (2014). Os resultados apontam para uma modificação no cenário educacional no período, com o cumprimento de algumas das metas. Salienta-se que, de 2001 a 2014, houve uma mudança muito grande na pós-graduação, com aumento significativo da formação, maior participação dos jovens (entre 18 e 24 anos) entre os ingressantes e o início da diversificação da estrutura de organizações acadêmicas, além da criação e do aumento da participação dos institutos federais no espaço de tempo da análise.

This article aims to observe the performance of Brazil in relation to eight indicators related to PNE quantifiable targets for Higher Education (PNE-ES) proposed for the period 2001-2010. To do so, the evolution of some of the goals proposed in the annex of the PNE is monitored according to information from the Higher Education Census and from Capes, using descriptive statistics for the period between 2001 and 2014. The period covers the publication of the I PNE (2001) until the publication of the II PNE (2014). The results point to a change in the educational scenario in the period, with the fulfillment of some of the goals. There was a great change in post-graduation in the period, with a large increase in training, greater participation of young people (between 18 and 24 years) among the newcomers and the beginning of the diversification of the structure of academic organizations, with the creation and increased participation of federal institutes in the analysis timeframe.
