Abstract
O artigo aborda a evolução dos acordos celebrados pelo Mercado Comum do Sul (Mercosul) e o amadurecimento das regras intrabloco negociadas por seus membros. A partir disso, o estudo foca na regra aplicável à possibilidade de negociação de acordos extrabloco pelos membros do Mercosul e em como cada país vem seguindo essa normativa, finalizando com uma análise das possibilidades e perspectivas que o atual governo brasileiro deve enfrentar em sua política negociadora individual e no âmbito do Mercosul.

The article discusses the evolution of the agreements entered into by the Southern Common Market (Mercosur) and the status quo of the intra-bloc rules negotiated by its members. The study focuses on the rule applicable to the possibility of negotiation of free trade agreements by Mercosur’s members and on how each country has been handling this norm. The article concludes analyzing the possibilities and perspectives that the current Brazilian government may face on its individual as well as on its joint negotiating policy.
