Abstract
Em um contexto em que retorna a restrição externa ao crescimento na economia argentina, este trabalho se pergunta o que é a realidade hoje das atuais relações comerciais entre Argentina e Brasil, ou seja, quem sempre desempenhou um papel fundamental como um destino para as exportações argentinas, especialmente as industriais. Embora durante o período de 2003-2013 o programa macroeconômico no Brasil tenha gerado um aumento significativo na penetração de importações, este aumento foi fornecido em vários setores por outros provedores, especialmente a China. Neste contexto, e tendo em conta a recente queda das exportações argentinas para o Brasil, este trabalho tem como objetivo identificar em que medida esta diminuição está ligada à crise econômica e à recessão, mostrando o seu sócio comercial, ou se é de natureza estrutural, com impactos mais elevados em longo prazo, relacionados com o papel da China como um competidor no mercado brasileiro.

Given the external restriction that is currently facing the Argentine economy, this work tries to understand which is the current situation of the commercial relations between Argentina and Brazil, taking into account the important role usually played by Brazil as purchaser of the Argentine industrial exports. In spite of the fact that during 2003-2013 Brazil showed a strong increase in import penetration, that increment was fulfilled in many sectors by other suppliers, specially by China. That is why, given the recent strong decrease in the Argentine exports to Brazil, this paper aims to identify to what extend this reduction responds to a cyclical matter, as a consequence of the present recession in Brazil; or to an structural reason, which will have higher impacts on the long run, as a result of the Chinese role as a competitor in the Brazilian market.
