Abstract
O aumento da importância das Cadeias Globais de Valor (CGV) é um dos mais importantes fenômenos do comércio internacional nos últimos vinte anos. Portanto, a inserção dos países emergentes nessas cadeias tem sido vista como uma condição fundamental para o seu desenvolvimento. Contudo, este artigo objetiva mostrar que esta relação não é direta e passa por algumas nuances. Esta questão deve, ainda, ser problematizada em razão das questões metodológicas envolvidas na mensuração das CGVs.

The increasing importance of Global Value Chains (GVC) is one of the most important facts regarding world trade in the last twenty years. Therefore, the way emerging countries insert themselves in these chains has been seen as a precondition for their development. The purpose of this paper is to show that this relation is not straightforward. This question is even more problematic due to methodological issues involved in the measurement of GVC.
