Abstract
A alimentação ultrapassa diferentes áreas de conhecimento e ação política, estabelecendo um diálogo entre eles e construindo um campo mais amplo, o da segurança alimentar e nutricional. Este artigo analisa o ativismo, a resistência e as proposições do grupo que milita em prol desta temática em São Paulo/SP, bem como o desdobramento dessa atuação nas esferas estadual e federal. Os métodos utilizados para a coleta dos dados foram: observação participante, entrevista com informante-chave e consulta a documentos de relevância. Verificou-se que a participação social foi um dos mecanismos utilizados para envolver representantes da sociedade civil e poder público na construção da política municipal e no fortalecimento da segurança alimentar e nutricional de modo geral. Concluiu-se que o protagonismo dos ativistas fortaleceu a participação social, bem como auxiliou na viabilização de espaços voltados à articulação da temática e no desenvolvimento de habilidades a partir de formação/capacitação técnica e da multiplicação de conhecimento em diversas instâncias e territórios.

The food goes beyond different areas of knowledge and political action, establishing a dialogue between them and building a broader field as the food and nutrition security. This article analyzes the activism, resistance and propositions of the group that supports this field in São Paulo/SP, as well as the unfolding of this action in the state and federal spheres. The methods used to collect the data were: participant observation, interview with key informant and consultation of relevant documents. It was verified that social participation was one of the mechanisms used to involve representatives of civil society and government in the construction of municipal policy and in the strengthening of food and nutrition security in general. It was concluded that the protagonism of the activists strengthened social participation, helped in the feasibility of spaces aimed at the articulation of the thematic as well as the development of skills from technical training and multiplication of knowledge in various instances and territories.
